Cal Net: On Your Servers GuardMike, Trent and I have been good friends since our childhood. We used to spend all our free time together, we always stood up for each other, so people called us “the three musketeers.”

When we were at school, we used to come together in the evenings and discuss minor everyday problems. When we were studying at university, we continued to come together in the evenings, to walk around and discuss our studies and routine affairs. And now that we’re all grown up, we continue this tradition and meet when we have free time. We discuss work and lots of other things.

I always talk about the interesting people I meet on my interviews. Trent tells about the IT company he works for and Mike speaks much about his online company.

Once Mike was working on a very important order and it was almost completed, when something went wrong with their company’s server, and all the data was lost. The whole team was in panic: only a few days were left till the deadline of their order, and they wouldn’t manage to start everything from the beginning.

Mike’s manager had no hope that the data could be recovered, but anyway he called a Los Angeles computer consulting company to ask for help. By a funny coincidence it was the company Trent worked for. The company’s experts came and fixed the server in a short period of time. They managed to recover all the lost data, and Trent advised how to avoid such situations in future.

I guess it’s not good when one of the “musketeers” doesn’t take part in the same activities as the others. Both Mike and Trent were involved in this story, so I also didn’t want to remain behind. And since the only thing I could do was tell about it, I decided just to write the story down. Here.
