Acer has been aggressively competing in both the notebook and netbook computer markets during the last few years. Now it has a new offering in its successful Aspire line–the 3935, a 13.3-inch laptop that shouts out for attention.
The Acer Aspire 3935 is an ultraportable notebook laptop pc that is already getting rave reviews. It comes in one color reminiscent of luscious Swiss chocolate, which the company calls “mocha metallic” that will undoubtedly expand the appetite of its user after an hour or so of use. The top of the laptop is accented in aluminum, a new trim style by Acer. It’s considered a thin offering with a one-inch height and weighing slightly over four pounds. From the photos I’ve seen online the Aspire 3935 is simply stunning.
The monitor is 13.3 inches in size and has a 16:9 aspect ratio, which means that the resolution is 1,366 by 768 pixels. So it is perfectly suitable for watching 720p high definition video.
It packs a punch with a 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 3GB of computer hardware RAM (expandable to 8GB!) and a 250GB 5,400 rpm hard drive. Other pluses include a dual-layer DVD writer, a MacBook-reminiscent touchpad which responds to finger swipes for zooming in and out, and a built-in memory card reader, which is for the most part a standard feature on laptops these days. There’s also a built-in webcam and even a fingerprint reader for extra security.
In terms of the battery’s life, expect just short of five hours from continuous use. That’s nothing to shrug at; it’s one of the best performing laptop batteries today.
