The Giant, Elite ASUS NX90Solid, luxurious and somewhat giant! This is the first thing that comes to mind when you look at the new ASUS NX90 laptop.

One of the world leading laptop producers ASUS came together with the Danish electronics giant Bang & Olufsen to create a new, quite extraordinary laptop both for its design and some its innovative features.

The NX90 has an 18-inch display delivering full HD 1,920 x 1,080 resolution.

The impressive specs include a 1.73GHz Intel Core i7-820QM processor and support for 12GB DDR3 of memory. The hard drive is 1,280 GB in size and you also get a 1 GB nVidia GeForce GT335M dedicated GDDR3 GPU graphics card. So the NX90 is obviously all about power.

The ASUS NX90 was designed by the award winning designer of B&O, David Lewis. The polished aluminum exterior, matte-black keyboard and metallic palm rest make this laptop look really weighty and elite.

This is the first laptop with twin touch pads. One touch pad is located on both the right and the left edges of the keyboard, instead a single touch pad traditionally placed in the center of the palm rest.

This new double laptop touch pad feature will change the nature of working on the laptop, making it easier and more dynamic. The dual touch pad system also provides a so-called Rotation Desktop Control–a two handed control for multimedia elements.

The laptop also stands out for its prominent audio features, thanks to B&O.

The laptop speaker box is ten times larger than what is usually included. The speakers border the screen vertically on both sides, so sounds are directed right at the user and not up in the air with traditional horizontally placed speakers.

This is it. It goes without saying that the designers did their best to create not just a laptop, but a product that will be a solid part of the living room interior.

The Asus NX90 is expected to hit store shelves in the second half of 2010 at an estimated price of $2499. Personally, I can hardly wait to get my hands on one.
