Have you ever come across the symbol of three arrows moving in a triangle? I guess, all of you have. Well, that is the symbol of recycling.
Many of us talk about recycling, claiming how important it is for the environment. But only very few of us really understand what recycling is, why it is so important and what we gain from that process.
The problem of environmental pollution was obvious long ago, but neither the public nor the authorities were realizing how quickly the problem could grow and how soon we all could face fatal consequences if we didn’t stop polluting. In the 21st century this issue has become more serious due to technological progress and lifestyle changes. For example, the more consumer goods we purchase, the bigger is the need for electronics recycling. The more fast food we eat, the more waste we produce because of disposable plates, cups and packaging.
Since we can’t immediately change the way we live, we need to think of smart ways to keep the world clean, by recycling. Simply put, with recycling the main elements of old products are used as raw materials for making new products.
Several organizations have started developing plans for effectively managing waste and keeping the environment clean. They started encouraging the use of recycled products and involved more and more governmental bodies into the programs making the world greener.
California is a state which deeply realizes the fatal consequences of environmental pollution because of waste and has already taken the bull by the horns. It has started several recycling programs in several of its counties. The Yorba Linda Recycling, Anaheim Waste Recycling, and Huntington Beach Recycling programs have all been successful to date.
Let’s hope that this will be an ongoing, far-reaching process. If we don’t start recycling today, our struggle against environmental pollution, global warming and habitat destruction will be long and arduous.
