Tustin is another city in California bothered with the problem of trash collection. Like many cities in California it also has made an agreement with Waste Management for developing modern ways of trash collecting.
Here trash collection carts are available in 35, 65 and 95 gallon sizes. Also carts are provided by Waste Management if you need recycling and green-waste containers. If any of the carts are damaged, they are replaced with new ones for free.
The carts are made for trash collection trucks. The container lids have appropriate grips for being lifted by the machine. That is why a damaged or broken lid should never be used.
Federal Disposal Service does an inspection on waste collection quality every year. The idea of inspection is to check mixed recycling, green waste and trash carts and correct container arrangement by residents. In case of any mistake a correction notice is sent to the resident. Later on a follow-up inspection is arranged for that same resident.
The Tustin trash collection service recommends that people consider the three “Rs”: Reducing, Reusing and Recycling.
For reducing trash creation I advise you to buy products that are not over-packaged. Also avoid overbuying fruits and vegetables. Try to use cloth napkins and towels instead of paper ones. This will undoubtedly reduce waste.
You can also reuse. For instance, if your furniture is old and you want to buy new furniture, do not throw it away, give it to a charitable organization, instead. The same goes for to clothes. Reuse plastic bags. Use glass jars, tins and plastic containers for storage at home.
The third and the last R is recycling. Contact your city’s waste management service and learn everything about recycling methods and rules. The waste management service will provide you with a separate recycling container and explain the right way of arranging the recyclable trash.
The three Rs are all equally important. Follow the above tips and rules to follow the Tustin trash collection example.
